RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT
We are always innovating so that we can continue to lead the Mediterranean aquaculture industry. That’s why we invest in advanced research and development. We work alongside acclaimed universities and laboratories, applying the most advanced tools and techniques to continuously improve the quality of our fry and fish, and bring new products to market.
Hatcheries
Our 10 modern facilities across Greece and Spain produce more than 245 million juvenile fish per year. These facilities incorporate an expansive nursery and pre-growing capacity as well as world-leading broodstock maturation and selection programs.
Feed Manufacturing
Our three feed manufacturing plants in Greece specialize in specific recipes to our fish and have a production capacity in excess of 170,000 tonnes per annum. Here, we develop and produce optimal feed for each of the species that we grow, and continue to research advanced formulations to improve our products, the well-being of our fish, and our overall efficiency.
Farms
Our more than 70 farms are spread across the Ionian and Aegean seas in Greece, the Mediterranean coast of Spain, and the Canary Islands. By 2025, we will have significantly expanded our biomass capacity and modernized all of our existing facilities. We are investing in new vessels, barge feeding systems, cameras to monitor our fish, sensors to monitor and control water quality, improved vaccination, R&D related to feed sustainability, as well as training and development for every team member. Every advancement and innovation we make seeks to improve our award-winning fish quality, taste and freshness, and offer greater opportunities to our people, while strengthening our sustainability and fish welfare program.
Processing & Packaging
Our modern processing and packaging plants are located throughout Greece and Spain. Here, we grade, process and pack fresh whole fish, gutted fish, and a variety of fillets presentations, which we deliver to our customers daily – just hours after harvest – to preserve the superior freshness of our produce. Working carefully with select partners, we are also able to apply specialized and bespoke processing techniques for consumer packaging, such as MAP and skin pack, in order to meet our customers’ exacting specifications. As we grow our range of value-added products, we will continue to invest in state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, enabling us to expand our capacity and bring further innovation to the marketplace.
